Today is my Dad’s birthday. He is 77! That’s just a cool number, 7 (a number said to represent perfection) times 11 (a number represented by a pair of ones, unity next to unity). It’s cool in a way that’s very different from how the number, say, 48 is cool. While 77 is the product of two relatively large primes, 48 has a much larger factorial expression, made up of a lot of very small primes: 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 3. And while 77 is my Dad’s age, 48 is mine. I like his better. No reason, just sayin. 77 feels open, free, and creative to me; 48 feels crowded, congested, cramped. You know, all those little prime factors.
I’m very much looking forward to meeting Mom and Dad for breakfast later this morning at the Ronneburg Restaurant in the Amanas. Have you ever had their caramelized pancakes? They are gooooood.
Now, if I could only get to sleep before breakfast…yeah, that would be goooood.
